When it comes to timber design, Neilly Davies Consulting Engineers have the expertise to suit any application. Over 30 years as consulting engineers, we have received requests for timber design of pergolas, entertainment decks, patios, swimming pool surrounds, cabanas and floors.

Many of our medium sized timber designs are for additions and alterations where a client is proposing to add attic space with openings in roofs or to add an entire floor. We provide timber designs to meet the differing structural and economic requirements of the client or the builder.

To meet this requirement we specify natural timber, Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) or natural hard wood to meet specific architectural and/or structural requirements in our timber design. We have also assessed available recycled timber for use in pergolas, timber decking, ornamental posts and pool surroundings.

Neilly Davies’ timber design includes large warehouse roofs, timber floors and ceilings to suit any kind of loading whether it is light sheeting, concrete tiles or terracotta tiles with the relevant timber design parameters to determine the sizes that are required.

We provide connection details or jointing details in some timber design cases which require steel strengthening to satisfy a particular architectural requirement.

Finally we also provide timber design of form work for excavations, design of timber trusses for roofs and also we assess the structural capacity of trusses supplied by manufacturers.
