An initial site visit is arranged to meet our clients on site and inspect the site to comprehensively assess the exiting drainage system and how they are connected. A complete and exclusive assessment of surface run off, hard and soft areas, roof areas and the down pipe connections are determined during the on site detention design process. It is then determined whether an on site detention facility is required or not.

Following this, a storm water design concept plan is prepared for council comment and approval. Once the concept plan is approved by council in the case that an on site detention facility is required, the detailed structural design of the tank is provided for construction.

For residential on site detention design, the tanks are often placed under the driveway. In this case the water tank cover is designed to take vehicle loading. Throughout the process of on site detention our consulting engineers will provide construction supervision, critical stage engineering inspections and certification.

Once constructed, Work as Executed (WAE) drawings are certified as required by the local council. Neilly Davies Consulting Engineers also provide the required engineering survey to ascertain the built details.
